Year 11

Stage 1 Chemistry introduces you to the fundamental concepts, including structure, bonding, polarity, solubility, acid-base reactions, and redox. These concepts are introduced in the six topics, with the mole concept, stoichiometry and energy calculations introduced gradually throughout each. In your study of these topics, you will develop your understanding of some of the fundamental principles and concepts of chemistry. Science inquiry skills and science as a human endeavour are interwoven through the science understanding.
